I met M Linden! Well, sort of… lol
While I was working at Laqroki yesterday, I happened across a newbie Linden. A quick look at his profile revealed that he was freshly rezzed (it was devoid of any other info at the time) so I IM’d him in the hopes that he’d eventually “wake up” and I could help him pick out some new goodies for his avi. After all, it’s not everyday that you get to give a Linden a makeover, right? ^_^
I stood around him for a bit but he never did leave Away status, so I figured I’d take a humorous little pic — the one you see above — and give it the smartass title, “Asleep On The Job”.
Well, guess what! I found out today he’s the new CEO of Linden Lab, lmaoooo… I am going to have to send this pic to him. <3 Hopefully he doesn’t reject my inventory offer o.o
Welcome to the top place on the SecondLife™ food chain, Mr. Kingdon. May the lag not afflict you with too many ass-tachments

The Metaverse truly is limited only by what we can imagine.

This is my new favorite Second Life picture of all time. Oh if only, if ONLY you rezzed a penis on him. That would have been the greatest…Oh well

Comment by Rheta Shan | April 24, 2008
Yes, it’s funny… but I remember a day I had the same TShirt and I was hairdressed like this. Well, as I was lucky, I was not LL’s new CEO and someone, like you Melanie, helped me (thanks again to this guy).
Guys, I guess we can laught but M could be a good CEO without being an hardcore resident… Please, give peace a chance !

Linden’s new CEO is a n00b? Oh, that gives me a lot of faith. I hope he has lived long in SL under a previous name, and really isn’t that green, or we are all in trouble with him at the helm. It’s a steep learning curve, and it takes a while to “get it” with Second Life.

OMG!MUAHAHAHAHA can’t stop laughing.. I love this one!!
Comment by Kiya McMahon | April 25, 2008
Yeah, he’s all noob-looking in the pic because he was literally just a few hours old, not even a full day yet
But it’s only appearance :p He’s actually been in SL for quite a while (over a year), so he definitely knows his way around, etc.
Comment by melaniekiddofsl | April 25, 2008
How completely embarassing! This is the new CEO we are supposed to have faith in? Lindens fail at PR from the top.
Comment by Not New | April 26, 2008
Excellent
We all start out the same way, it is the finish and especially the middle part that count!
Comment by Alanagh Recreant | April 26, 2008
i don’t see it embarassing. We all go to AFK, that is perfectly normal and acceptable behaviour, nothing to be ashamed of.
Or somebody declared that one cannot answer the phone while being present on the grid?
Comment by dandellion Kimban | April 26, 2008
well, i think it’s good that he will see the grid with “fresh” eyes. perhaps he will get to see what else is needed. after all, phil linden did say that m “will have an intense focus on improving the in-world experience and stability and reliability of Second Life” in the official blog, particularly in his post here:
http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/04/22/announcing-our-new-ceo/
we’ve yet to see how intense this concentration will be, but with his background in being able to contribute greatly as CEO of Organic and being in Pricewaterhouse Coopers is a great plus needed for Linden Lab, who we mostly think consist of code and technology geeks. This will be good for LL’s future towards making SL available for the common man.

Nice shot!
Comment by Torley | April 28, 2008
So, did you send him the pic and did he accept your Inventory offer?
Someone in the Lab should blow this up to super giant poster size for the office if M himself doesn’t do it.
Terrific shot!
Comment by Corcosman Voom | April 30, 2008
I will lose my respect for the company’s profile if that poster doesn’t show up.
Comment by dandellion Kimban | May 4, 2008
Brilliant Photo! Not that I’m plugging The Avastar here in any way shape or form, *but* if you send it in to their ‘Pics of the week’ page and it gets printed you’ll get L$500 for your trouble.
To be honest though it’s worth a squillion times more than that, and how could he resist such a gorgeous av as yourself?
=^..^=
